Hii! So this is the first of the series of pinterest recipe posts (which will all more than likely be cake/sweet based) and i thought i would start off with something fairly easy that didn’t use too many ingredients or use too much time (seen as I’ve left it till last minute as per).
Scrolling through all the pins i’d already pinned i came accross a simple 3 ingredient, no bake recipe for Oreo truffles… and they looked pretty yummy so it was an obvious first choice. (I will leave links to both the pin and the original recipe at the bottom of this post!)
1 Cup of cream cheese (If, like me, you have no clue what cream cheese is.. It’s basically soft cheese, like Philadelphia… I felt like such an idiot wandering around wondering wtf it was)
40 Oreos (I used 2 normal sized packs)
White chocolate (melted)
How to make:
Put the Oreo’s in a a food processor/blender and switch on and whatnot until they are fine crumbs… Or, like me, if you don’t have a food processor, stick the Oreo’s in a food bag and take your anger out on it with a rolling pin (it basically does exactly the same job).
Soften the cream cheese in a bowl and then add most of the Oreo crumbs (try and save some for sprinkling on top at the end).
Mix it all together well so you get a sticky mixture.
Take bits of the mixture (i used around a tablespoon full) and roll into balls and pop on a lined tray. I had no grease proof paper so i just popped them on a tray without and they survived.
After you’ve made all your balls, pop them in the freezer for 30 minutes.
After the 30 minutes is up.. Take them out and pop them on the side.
Melt your white chocolate.. Either in a bowl on top of boiling water or in the microwave (i wont specify a time limit microwave wise, just check on it constantly so it doesn’t burn).
Dip the Oreo balls into the melted chocolate, put on a lined tray and sprinkle with the left over Oreo crumbs (unless you’ve eaten them, then it’s called tough luck).
If you’re house is really cold (like mine was at the time of making) i would do the dipping and sprinkling in batches of 3 before the chocolate has time to set, like it did to me.. Though they still taste bloody delicious!
And that’s how you make white chocolate Oreo truffles! My presentation may not be good, i am not the best food presenter in the world (though i wish i was) but they were easy enough to make and taste super good!
